We had a long drive home from MiMi and PawPaw’s tonight, through heavy rain, bad traffic, and streaky windshield wipers. He took a nice, long nap for most of the drive, which means that he’s only just gone down for the night. Which means that I’m far too tired and out of it to write a proper blog post. And to give tonight’s post justice.
So I’ll make it short tonight, and do a better synopsis tomorrow.
And try to win you over with cute…
And a tease for a story.
I went downstairs this morning to get started on breakfast, only to find that we had just two eggs left. So, I preheated the oven and broke out a can of crescent rolls from the fridge. And then laid them out on the cookie sheet as triangles.
So…Michael and I had flatbread for breakfast. (And two eggs for him, and some bacon for the both of us.)
Gabe has gotten pretty spectacular at getting O-Puffs (infant-safe Cheerios) into his mouth. He hasn’t exactly perfected his pincer grip yet, but in the last two days, his success rate at getting the puff into his mouth has been near 95% (where it used to be more like 10%). Lately, puffs are going into his mouth, and not just falling to the floor. Michael and I make sure to praise him every time he gets it right, though sometimes he looks back at us with his mouth agape in a smile, and then the puff falls out of his mouth. Ha!
I got to step away for a bit and get my hair cut and colored today, which was a nice treat, and Gabe napped most of the time I was gone, which worked out well for him and Michael too! I hadn’t had a haircut or color since Gabe was about two or three months old, so to say that it was time would be an understatement. I had worried about how Gabe would react to my new look, but though he looked at me a little bit funny when I got home, he didn’t really have a strong reaction.
Tomorrow, we have a date at MiMi and PawPaw’s, which means we get to break out another one of Gabe’s new outfits, and show off all of Gabe’s new tricks. Last time they saw him, he wasn’t even quite crawling yet. So much has happened in the last month. I’m looking forward to showing it all off!
I couldn’t help myself today. After yesterday’s shopping adventure, I just had to get Gabe in one of his new outfits. So, I got him dressed up and we hung out with Grandma and Grandpa (and Midnight and Buddy).
Can you stand it? I can’t. I just can’t.
Look at all of this cute.
And the puff.
It’s photos like these that make me realize that my little baby is going to be a rambunctious toddler before I know it. He doesn’t even look like a baby anymore.
“Are you going to put that camera down, like…ever?”
And…passed out. Being that cute is tough work, man.
